The American Farm School Post-Secondary Education and Training Association, known as Perrotis College, holds a long record of successful coordination of EU and national projects, indicating its administrative know-how and capabilities. Over the years, Perrotis College has accumulated considerable business-related knowledge and cutting-edge food science and product development expertise; in this respect, it is an entity well-suited to the creation and development of new food concepts, product design, development, evaluation and shelf life determination, market commercialisation and market entrance related research. Moreover, Perrotis College served as the academic partner in the successful EIT Food RIS Consumer Engagement Labs in Greece in 2020 and 2021. Throughout this process, the Perrotis College team gained great experience in working with elderly consumers on topics dealing with food-related behaviours. In addition to faculty, MSc students were involved in the project, enhancing its impact on the local community. Our past track record and participation in EIT Food RIS Consumer Engagement Labs 2020 and 2021 highlight our institution’s capacity, not only to successfully complete the project, but to engage several faculty and students in the project and to maximise the program's impact on the various stakeholders. Last but not least, the holistic approach and overall practical role of the institution is met through the operation of the two 145-hectare demonstration farms which are considered “a living laboratory,” as well as the various analytical laboratories that are equipped with state of the art apparatus.
